Nutrition Education and Obesity Prevention Grant Program


In accordance with the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010, the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program engaged in an aggressive outreach campaign to seek input from a wide range of stakeholders regarding implementation of Section 241, which establishes a Nutrition Education and Obesity Prevention Grant Program.


UPDATED April 5, 2013. The Interim Rule, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program: Nutrition Education and Obesity Prevention Grant Program, was published in the Federal Register on April 5, 2013. The rule codifies SNAP-Ed provisions of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. Links to the PDF document and Federal Register text versions are below. To be considered, comments on this interim rule must be postmarked on or before June 4, 2013.
