Nutrition Education and Obesity Prevention Grant Program


In accordance with the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010, the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program engaged in an aggressive outreach campaign to seek input from a wide range of stakeholders regarding implementation of Section 241, which establishes a Nutrition Education and Obesity Prevention Grant Program.

The Interim Rule, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program: Nutrition Education and Obesity Prevention Grant Program, was published in the Federal Register on April 5, 2013. The rule codifies SNAP-Ed provisions of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. Links to the PDF document and Federal Register text versions are below. The comment period closed June 4, 2013.
