|Reviewers Comments: ||Eat Smart! MyPlate & 2010 Dietary Guidelines is a video that helps viewers understand the concepts of MyPlate and the USDA's 2010 Dietary Guidelines. The video is filmed in live-action with a narrator throughout each chapter and offers subtitles for the hearing-impaired. It is divided into four chapters:
1. We Need Guidelines Just to Eat?
2. Use MyPlate to Choose Nutrient-Dense Foods
3. Balance Calories to Maintain Weight
4. Avoid SoFAS & Sodium
5. Make MyPlate Be Your Plate
On the Learning Seed Web site, there is a preview of the video and a 14-page Educator's Resource Guide available. You must register for a free online account and log in to access these materials. The guide offers before and after viewing activities, examples of discussion questions, a glossary and additional resources. It also includes an assessment component that may be used as an evaluative component for the video and accompanying discussion.
