This book answers the question asked in the title, Can I freeze It? It describes what can and cannot be frozen successfully, how to make the most of freezer space, and how to prepare dishes for the freezer. It also explains how freezing preserves food, provides freezing tips and techniques, and reviews the best ways to thaw foods once they’ve been frozen.
The bulk of the book includes recipes that can be frozen. Recipes are generally easy to prepare for someone with basic cooking skills. Some of the recipes may be costly. In some recipes, more expensive ingredients may be substituted for less pricey ones (or eliminated). The best ways to freeze, serve and thaw each recipe is included. Many of the recipes are accompanied by beautiful color photographs. Nutrition information for the recipes is not included.
This book contains some wonderful recipes for some basic marinades, meats, and desserts. It does not include how to prepare and freeze fresh produce and thus would not work best as a reference tool.
