Title:Recipes Made Easy
Alt. Title:Food Basics: Recipes Made Easy
Pub. date: 2007
Includes: DVD-R
Audience: Adults
Language: English and Spanish both included on one DVD.
Description:Recipes can be intimidating, but they don't have to be. This video focuses on the fact you don't need to be a TV show chef to make delicious, nutritious meals.

"Recipes Made Easy" is a single DVD, but is also available as part of the 5-part series, Food Basics. Food Basics also includes Food Safety, Family Fun, At Home in the Kitchen, and Shopping Smarts. This title was developed specifically for adult nutrition education for WIC and Extension programs.

Reviewers Comments: This video is a great tool to help inexperienced cooks feel more comfortable in the kitchen. Difficult terminology, such as the difference between chop, dice, julienne, and mice are explained and the techniques are demonstrated. Participants will learn how to chop a pepper and an onion. Then ordinary equipment is used to turn the chopped vegetables into a simple vegetable stir fry.

While this video will not teach participants to cook everything, it is a good introduction to some basic cooking skills. It would work well in a beginning cooking class for teenagers and adults.
