The scrapbook style layout can be fun and engaging for older children, but may be a little busy for some and make it difficult for early readers to follow. The illustrations are eye-catching and complement the story well. Some difficult concepts are included, such as food additives, empty calories and food energy, which may be difficult to explain to younger children. Children and adults reading this book may need a background in nutrition to explain and understand these topics. Included in the book are “Tickets to Fresh Adventures”, 14 snack recipe cards for nutritious fruit and vegetable snacks for kids. These can be used to encourage children to eat healthier snacks.
