Children are encouraged to be physically active at least 60 minutes every day, or on most days. Each day of the week is listed for eight consecutive weeks, with a space for children to fill in the type of activity performed and the number of minutes they performed the activity. At the end of each week, there is a place for them to add up and write down the total number of minutes spent doing physical over the course of the past 7 days.
The handout is bright and attractive looking, however, the layout does seem slightly cluttered. There is not a lot of room for children to write in their activities, especially if they are performing multiple activities over the course of a day. Children may not realize that they can count multiple activities towards their physical activity total. The font is clear and easy to read, and log data is sprinkled with culturally appropriate cartoon pictures of children doing various physical activities.
MyActivity Log is printed in thick glossy paper similar to that of MyPyramid and can be ordered or downloaded from the web. It was developed for children ages 6-11; however it can be used with children and adults of all ages who want to keep track of their total physical activity. It can be paired with the MyActivity Pyramid or used as a stand alone tool.
